Staying at the GLC
Our ethos is about getting it right for you and seventeen years of experience has helped shape our unique understanding of your needs. When you choose to live at the G.L.C you will know we have your best interest at heart in turn we hope this will provide parents and guardians peace of mind. We understand that this maybe your first time away from home with all the stress this can bring to help you settle into your new home we encourage returning students to buddy up and show you the ropes. We hope this will add to your university experience and make staying at one of the G.L.C properties will be an enjoyable experience.
This September, on moving in weekend there will be a social evening arranged where you can get to meet your new flatmates and neighbours right from day one. Added to this your safety is right on top of our priority list therefore we have CCTV and secure entry systems. We have a fully trained Accommodation Team on hand during office hours to answer any queries and an out of hour’s number for emergencies.
Booking at the GLC
To secure your choice of student accommodation you just need to pay a booking fee – the amount varies across our locations so please see the Accommodation page for details. At the start of your tenancy the booking fee converts to a damage deposit which is refundable at the end of your tenancy, less any charges for damage, rent or other charges due. The booking fee is non-refundable if you decide to cancel.
How do I book a room?
To book just contact us through the website and then you can register your enquiry with the GLC staff. They will reply swiftly and answer any questions you may have before booking a viewing or booking your accommodation.
Can we book as a group?
Of course! For our locations that have shared student apartments, contact us through the website and then you can register your enquiry with the GLC staff. They will reply swiftly and answer any questions you may have before booking a viewing or booking your accommodation.
Can I book a certain room?
Yes, floors, flats and room numbers are available for you to select during the booking process.
What if I want to cancel?
If you book without seeing the accommodation you may cancel your booking within 7 days. To cancel, please write to the Accommodation Manager at the GLC.
Can I have a guest to stay?
You may have occasional overnight guests. Please do not invite someone to stay for more than two consecutive nights and always check with your flatmates first.
Paying my rent.
You can pay your rent using the following methods Bank transfer, Bank Card or cash.
What happens with my deposit?
Your deposit will be returned as long as your room is clean, no items are missing and no damage has been caused during your stay. You will get the deposit back 10 working days after the end of your tenancy.
Can I stay in my room throughout the summer?
We will try and accommodate requests for summer student accommodation extensions when possible. Please contact the G.L.C Accommodation Team to check.
Do I need to move out for Christmas and Easter?
No – your room is yours for the duration of your tenancy. You only need to move out of the room at the end of the agreement.
Is there a room inspection?
Your room/apartment will be fully inspected at least three times during your tenancy. During these inspections we check for cleanliness, damage and for missing items. At each inspection you will be told if there is to be a charge for putting anything right. You will be invoiced immediately for recharges for the first two inspections and on the final inspection a deduction will be made from your deposit.
